The Washington Ambassadors were scheduled to play in the upstart World Football League but they never actually took the field.
This WFL football has a Washington Ambassadors stamping, along with the facsimile signature of Joseph Wheeler Jr. (owner) and "January 14, 1974-May 14, 1974." The dates are somewhat faded. We assume the ball was used for press conferences in anticipation of the team’s debut.
