Orel Hershiser Game-worn 1990s Dodgers Batting Helmet

Pitcher Orel Hershiser didn’t resemble a Bulldog, the nickname that Los Angeles Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda hung on him, but anyone who faced him was aware of his fierce determination on the mound. Hershiser wore this size-“7 1/4” ABC helmet in the early 1990s. More specifically, the headwear was manufactured in January of 1990, so indications are that it saw action in the 1991 season. Moderate wear is exhibited with minor scrapes on the crown. The uniform number “55” decals are located on the front bill and back side. A smaller ABC sticker with an MLB logo is placed over another ABC sticker on the verso. The leather headband is intact and there are no cracks on this piece of Dodgers history.
