Original Dragnet Signed Photo Display (w/ Prop Badge #714)
Out of stock
Dragnet is considered the most influential police T.V. dramas of all time, becoming the inspiration for many of today’s police shows. Originally aired on radio, the show found even more success on the small screen. The display presented exhibits a black & white photo of the original two-man Dragnet cast (1952-1959) along with several unidentified figures – likely bona fide L.A. police executives serving as consultants. The photo is signed and inscribed (broad nib, black fountain pen) by Jack Webb, who played Sgt. Joe Friday “Nice meeting all of you, Sincerely – Jack Webb”, rating “7” (clean, legible but moderately faded). Also signed and inscribed is Ben Alexander, who played Officer Frank Smith. His inscription, also written in fountain pen, says “Thanks for coming to see Dragnet – Ben Alexander”, rating “9” in quality. The Pièce de résistance of the entire 20″ x 20″ framed display is the prop badge of Sergeant Joe Friday. The #714 lapel badge, from the set of Dragnet 1967, is in NM/MT condition and comes with a COA from the Great American Prop & Wardrobe Co. (GAP&W).
