Presented is an original pencil drawing of Dwight Morrow dated to 1930. Dwight Whitney Morrow was an American businessman, politician, and diplomat, who was also the father-in-law of Charles A. Lindbergh.
Morrow was the father of Anne Morrow Lindberg, one of three children, and served as a lawyer; partnered at J.P. Morgan & Co., the largest, most powerful commercial bank in the United States in this era; appointed United States Ambassador to Mexico by President Coolidge from 1927-1930. In 1930 he was elected as a Republican to the United States Senate to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Walter Evans Edge. At the same time he was elected for the full term commencing March 4, 1931. He served in the Senate from December 3, 1930, until his death in Englewood, New Jersey (Oct. 5, 1931).
The pencil drawing is signed by Morrow and the artist, M.H. Herrin. It has no visible wear or faults. Measures 8″ x 10-1/2″.
