Description

Actual gold earrings presented to Milwaukee Braves players’ wives to celebrate the team’s National League Championship and participation in the 1957 World Series. Beautifully crafted and intricately detailed by Balfour, and essentially posted 1957 World Series Press Pins (and probably the best looking pins ever), the earrings measure about 1 3/8 inches each, from Braves chin to tip of crown, in gold with red enameling in crown. Near perfect condition, with fine patina, and only a minor gap in the enameling at the tip of one of the crowns, as detailed in the accompanying photos. An awesome authentic piece of the life and career of baseball’s celebrated Homerun King, Hank Aaron.

Barbara Aaron gave these beautiful momentos to Milwaukee neighbor Barbara Cox in friendship and in appreciation for favors received; everything from watching children to running errands, etc. They are but one of many gifts exchanged with the Cox family and children over the course of a decade, including the 1955 All-Star wifes’ bracelet offered in Lot #423, as well as signed balls, bats, etc. Lot is accompanied by a letter from the Cox family. EX/MT.
