William H. Perkins, Jr. (1921-2009) was an esteemed and well-respected lobbyist, historian, and humanitarian. During his 50-year career,  he amassed one of the largest private collections of presidential and political memorabilia. He was present at the founding of the United Nations. Mr. Perkins had the honor to meet 11 United States Presidents from Franklin D. Roosevelt to Bill Clinton. Presented are items direct from his renowned collection.

Presented is a typed signed letter from President Lyndon B. Johnson to Perkins on official White House letterhead. The typed signed letter (TLS) dates to September 22, 1964.  The President was delighted by the custom color photo paperweight Perkins had given him. The letter was signed in black in by the President (“9”). The paperweight showcases both men shaking hands in admiration of their friendship. In addition to the letter, for provenance also included is Perkin’s paperweight. And lastly included, is a portrait photo of the President that Johnson had sent to Perkins.
