Description

Through the administrations of many American presidencies, the acknowledgment of baseball – our national pastime – has been a tradition of obligation. But from Calvin Coolidge to Jimmy Carter, interest has often been somewhat lukewarm in the Oval Office. Along the way, however, a couple of our chief executives were genuine devotees of the game. Many of us remember his string of “B” movies, and some of our most senior citizens will recall that Ronnie Reagan once did radio play-by-play for the Cubs and this ball was signed at Wrigley Field when he was President.

Reagan has periodically solicited to autograph a baseball, there was spirit in his signing. He was intimate with the game and well-versed in its nuances. One such signing appears on the sweet spot of this ONL (Giamatti) baseball signature was signed in dark blue ballpoint pen.  The ball has only very mild tone spots (EX/MT+), and the autograph, a “9” by the even the most demanding of the standards, seems genuinely sincere in dark blue ballpoint pen. Giamatti was the commissioner from 1986 to 1989 and Ronald Reagan was President from 1981 to 89 when he was President. This ball also comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA.
