Description

Theodore Roosevelt died January, 1919, at age sixty, never fully recovering from the death of his son Quentin, a WWI aviator shot down in June of 1918, nor what he perceived as the wasteful human cost of America’s politics and (in)actions during the Great War.

Presented is a historic page featuring a signature in black pen (“8”) from Theodore Roosevelt; iconic twenty-sixth President of the United States (1901-1909) and the most influential and representative American of his generation. He signed the thank you letter on Kansas City Star letterhead (from his office) three days before he passed away (He died on Jan. 6, 1919 and the letter is dated Jan. 3, 1919). The parchment itself is folded with tape remnants.

Also included in the collection, is a short note – “Good Luck!” signed by Theodore Roosevelt, Jr. which was not authenticated.

Authentication: JSA Full Letter (President Theodore Roosevelt) The Roosevelt Jr. is not authenticated.
