Woodrow Wilson was the 28th President of the United States, from 1913 to 1921. In United States history, it was a particularly difficult era leading up to and including World War I that took such a toll on President Wilson. A member of the Democratic Party, Wilson served as the President of Princeton University from 1902 to 1910 before winning the 1912 presidential election.
This original letter was written while he was in the process of becoming President of Princeton University to Professor L.S. Rowe (from University of Pennsylvania). The letter is typed (6″ x 7.5″) and hand-signed by Woodrow Wilson dated June 20th, 1902. The contents are a simple thank you for support. The letter itself shows creasing and compacting folds. The display 15×22 also includes a photo of Wilson.
