Queen are a British rock band formed in London in 1970. Their classic line-up was Freddie Mercury (lead vocals and piano), Brian May (lead guitar and vocals), Roger Taylor (drums and vocals), and John Deacon (bass guitar). Their earliest works were influenced by progressive rock, hard rock and heavy metal, but the band gradually ventured into more conventional and radio-friendly works by incorporating further styles, such as arena rock and pop rock.
Throughout the years, no other rock band topped the charts like Queen. Starting in the early seventies and throughout the eighties, Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon wrote hit after hit. From their first number one single, Bohemian Rhapsody, to their stadium anthems, We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions, their music has reigned across the radio airwaves from Great Britain and Europe to the United States and Australia. We also must mention that frontman Freddie Mercury, died tragically over 20 years ago.
Presented is a rare treat of the band’s autographs. They were obtained by a tour manager/concert promoter who helped rock bands in the United States. She worked closely with the band and obtained them in person during the 1979-80 era. Her medium of choice was the cool color photo insert of “The Game” tour book. The tour book photo in color was the same as the cover of their “The Game” album which was in black and white. The page itself is affixed to the backing and has the central separation crease which is only detected upon close inspection.
Each band member including Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon signed the photo in legible blue ink (“7-8”). Freddie Mercury added the wonderful inscription, “Love” with the other guys adding salutations toward the tour manager. The photo (11.5″ x 18″) was matted into a display measuring 16″ x 23″.
This offering is special to us as we have had only a few opportunities to offer full band (Queen) signed items. Take advantage now as the scarce market yields little opportunities like this.
