Description
The Pittsburgh Pirates made a bold fashion statement in the late 1970s and early 1980s, when they sported the bumblebee hat design. Pitcher Rod Scurry wore this size-“7 1/3” New Era hat in his 1980 rookie year. The colorful yellow-and-black hat features very light soiling on the front portion. Uniform number “57” was written in black felt tip on the bottom of the bill then crossed out. “S” and “D” were also penned in felt tip then crossed out. Scurry only wore “57” during his rookie year. The hat comes directly from a former Oakland A’s clubhouse attendant (batboy) and will come with an LOA from him.
