Seals Stadium served as the home of the San Francisco Giants for two seasons. The Stadium opened on April 7, 1931 and was located near downtown San Francisco. The stadium served as the home for the Pacific Coast League’s San Francisco Seals and Missions. The grandstand extended down both the base lines, and their was a bleacher section in right field. Their last game for the Seals was played on September 13, 1957. The first game for the Giants was on April 15, 1958. The Giants continued to play there for two years before moving to their new home Candlestick Park in 1960. Offered hear is a seat from this bay area park. The wood slats on the seat and back have not been restored or repainted. It is primarily yellow, with some minor “chipping” of the iron sides. This reveals that the seat was at one time painted light blue. The seat is numbered on the back with a hand painted number “7.” Seals Stadium was demolished in November 1959. In its place now stands a popular shopping center.
