Presented here is Sheldon “Shelly” Moldoff’s original Hawkman “Hawkman Rescues Girl” watercolor art. This piece is coming straight from Moldoff’s estate. This piece shows him swooping in to save the day once again.
Sheldon “Shelly” Moldoff was an American comics artist best known for his early work on the DC Comics characters Hawkman and Hawkgirl, and as one of Bob Kane’s primary “ghost artists” on the superhero Batman. During the late-1930s and 1940s Golden Age of comic books, Moldoff became a prolific cover artist for the future DC Comics.
Hawkman “Carter Hall” is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by Gardner Fox and Dennis Neville, the character first appeared in Flash Comics # 1 (January 1940). There are two separate origins for Carter Hall: the Golden Age origin and the Post-Hawkworld the current origin.
