Description

Sally Arnn, one of Shirley’s classmates from Westlake School, was also a guest at Shirley’s storybook wedding to John Agar on September 19, 1945.  She later pressed wedding souvenirs into the pages of a scrapbook alongside a movie magazine article about Shirley entitled, “Wedding of a Fairy Princess”.   Preserved among the pages of the article is a cluster of thin white satin ribbon carried by the bridemaids during the ceremony.   Also preserved as a keepsake is a large white satin bow from Shirley’s own bridal bouquet. These vintage items remain delightful symbols of young love in a simpler time.
