Description
All works created and drawn by Robert W. Pelkowski cover over 50 years of dedication to creating, drawing, and promoting various art works and art concepts about people, kids and nature. He was a long-time Chicago Blackhawks’ artist and cartoonist. The lively and creative work includes his collectible Sporticatures prints.
Originally displayed in Stan Mikita’s Village Inn restaurant (Oakbrook, IL) – Clubbers , this original art rendering of Mikita was hand drawn by the artist Robert Pelkowski in the late 1960’s. The black white contrast is quite nice and showcases Mikita almost ready for a face off. It measures 14×31 within a matte.
Important to note, only the face off Mikita rendering is included here as well as the artist COA. The other art as well as the restaurant mementos in the collection are only shown for provenance. They are not included.
Stan Mikita was a Slovak–Canadian ice hockey player for the Chicago Black Hawks of the National Hockey League, generally regarded as the best centre of the 1960s. In 2017, he was named one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players. He became the first Slovak-born player who won the Stanley Cup in 1961.
