Presented is a life size figure of Yoda made for the promotion of the first of the Star Wars prequels, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999). In the film, Yoda returns with the Jedi Council in the Phantom Menace as a younger version due to the film being set 35 years before the Empire Strikes Back. Throughout the original trilogy and the original cut of the Phantom Menace, a puppet was used to portray and bring the little green Jedi Master to life. When the Blu-ray version of the Phantom Menace was released, the puppet had been replaced by CGI.
This amazing display piece made by Tic Toc Industries captures the wise and powerful Jedi Master in astonishing detail, standing in his meticulously tailored Jedi robes and holding his cane. Used in the promotion of the film for home video by film rental store Blockbuster the Yoda figure is made from latex and foam with a green painted finish. Lots of hand painted detailing has been applied to show the various wrinkles and markings on his skin and his claw-like fingers. The robes are made from a beige and brown textured linen and grey hair has been applied around the ears. The cane is made of rubber with a metal armature to add weight and rigidity and has been finished in brown paint, with texture added to the cane to create the appearance of wood.
This item comes on a custom display stand which features the film’s logo laser-cut on the front in faux-gold. This item remains in excellent condition. Yoda’s approx. size is 35″ tall x 24″ x 24″.
