In 2013, Under Armour signed Stephen Curry after Nike failed to match a deal worth less than $4 million a year, which quickly became a bargain as Curry emerged as one of the best players in the league. In his first year in his signature shoe, the Curry One, he won the league MVP and his Warriors won the NBA title.
This pair of sneakers helped Stephen Curry try out what he wanted out of specialized basketball footwear. Curry was concerned at the time with injuries with Nike footwear and wanted something durable. These sneakers were given to him prior to signing with Under Armour and the very first he ever wore for the brand. They eventually turned into what he wanted his Under Armour Curry One’s game sneakers to be.
They are special made Under Armour Anatomix with Warriors colorways yellow, white and blue. “Anatomix” is showcased for design on each tongue. They are size 13 and show heavy throughout. He definitely put these through the rigors of testing including practice. They held up well most likely because it features Micro G foam which lasts longer and is more responsive than most foams on the market.
The interior tagging has the proper “Tech Sample” athletic wear coding as these were pre-production samples (only available for Curry to try-out for the brand). They also have the “CFM SAMPLE – NOT FOR RESALE” printed in the interior. The Golden State Warriors logo decorates the insole. It goes without saying that they were never available by way of retail. Overall, these Anatomix style/fit must have been what he was looking for as they mirror a similar style to the one he wears on the court now for his personal Curry brand.
Shortly after the try-out period they were gifted to a family member. The shoes come with a rock solid provenance letter from that family member.
