Description

Terry “Tank” Johnson (born December 7, 1981) is a former American professional football defensive tackle in the NFL for the Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys and Cincinnati Bengals. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the second round of the 2004 NFL Draft. He played college football at Washington.

As a senior at Washington, he started 12 games at both defensive tackle and defensive end. He posted 35 tackles, 10 sacks (led the team), 18.5 tackles for loss (led the team), one forced fumble and one fumble recovery (scored a touchdown). He finished his college career with 23 starts out of 35 games, collecting 64 tackles (29 for loss), 15 sacks, one interception, 2 passes defensed, 2 forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Presented is a 2002 Washington game worn jersey of Tank Johnson. The mesh game jersey is a white Nike gamer from the 2002 Sun Bowl.

In the 2002 Sun Bowl, a 29-yard field goal in the 4th quarter by Purdue made the lead 34–17, and Purdue had scored 17 unanswered points. Washington got on the board one last time after Cody Pickett found Patrick Reddick for a 12-yard touchdown pass to make the final margin 34–24, which was also the final score of the 2001 Rose Bowl just with Washington winning that game.

On the jersey, Johnson’s numbers “99” is featured on the front, back and sleeve screened on in purple/gold tackle twill. The Washington “W” embroidered team patch can be found on the V part of the neck. The back of the right shoulder has the “Wells Fargo Sun Bowl” (2002) patch.  The left front tail features the Nike label with two white flap tags including the size “48”. The verso reads “T. JOHNSON” in purple on a screened name plate. The jersey shows extreme use with sweat stains, cuts under the arms, hit marks scrapes on the fabric and loose threading throughout.

The highlight was the front right shoulder was autographed by Tank Johnson in blue felt tip with the inscription, “To Art – Mo Money – Mo Problems – Good Look-in Out! Let’s Get This Money” for added authentication. A program from the game is also included.
