Ted Williams of the Boston Red Sox was the 1949 MVP by the Boston Baseball Writers Association. This prestigious award in the form of a plaque was presented to him by the association.  That year he was the AL MVP and led the league in several categories. Great year! It measures approx. 12×14 and features some expected patina from age/storage.

The engraving reads:

F. BURTON WHITMAN  MEMORIAL TROPHY – PRESENTED TO – TED WILLIAMS BOSTON’S MOST VALUABLE PLAYER 1949 BY – BOSTON BASEBALL WRITERS ASSOCIATION – FEBRUARY 2 1950 – AMERICAN LEAGUES MOST VALUABLE PLAYER AND HOME RUN LEADER.
