Description
The Band was touring in 1983 without Ronnie Robertson, who had found success with a solo career and as a Hollywood music producer. As a result of their diminished popularity, they performed in theaters and clubs as headliners and took support slots in larger venues for onetime peers such as the Grateful Dead and Crosby, Stills and Nash.
Presented is an original concert tour tee shirt from The Band in 1983-84 (World Tour). The white long sleeve shirt is vintage and measures 17″ across the chest and the 23.5″ from top of collar seam to bottom. Vintage tagging is HEF T [size] M. Nice flag design on front with Asian design on back and on the sleeve.
This lot is from the T-Shirt collection from the estate of Chuck Landis (aka Largo) veteran promoter, concert best known as co-founder of the Roxy West Hollywood rock club in the early 1970’s and in 1980. Many of the T-Shirts come from performances that were at the venue. They have been locked away for many until now.Â
The Rox bar was a regular hangout for John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, Alice Cooper and Keith Moon Heidi Fleiss in the 1980s.   So you can only imagine what stories can tell?
A list of some of the musicians that performed at the Roxy Theatre West Hollywood:  Neil Young, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Bruce Springsteen, Van Morrison, Guns N’ Roses, Frank Zappa, Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, Warren Zevon, The Ramones, George Benson, Red Hot Chili Peppers.
