The Jersey Devil Build Up Model Kit Barker Brothers

Tom Killeen is well known in the film industry as a movie magic specialist. Killeen works behind the scenes of the art department tirelessly. He is known for creating and painting designs that help actors morph into the characters they portray or transforming the entire imaginary world around them.  Among many films, he has worked on I Am Legend (2007), Independence Day (1996) and The Chronicles of Riddick (2004).

Presented are items from his personal collection. Some of the items are direct from film sets and others are project models he has worked on. The work on the props and models are beyond hobbyist as these pieces were touched by Killeen who has a highly technical and advanced artist skill. He is now ready to bring his form of art to market and have it appreciated by all the movie buffs or monster collectors out there.

From Killeen’s collection is this Jersey Devil model kit. It’s painted professionally by Killeen.  It is the “Jersey Devil” by Barker Brothers, a rare resin model that’s become as legendary as its subject matter. The Jersey Devil kit was released in 1992 by Barker Brothers, a talented team of two LA designers (Dan Platt and Ken Morgan) whose small garage kit company soon metamorphosed into what is today, Sideshow Collectibles. The Brothers originally released three elaborate resin model dioramas of famous circus freaks, and then planned a whole series of models based on American folklore. The Jersey Devil model was their first “Legend Series” garage kit, and sadly, their last. A proposed edition of 500 J. Devil kits were planned, but less than half that amount were actually produced. The horrid little fiend stands approx. 12″ tall with a 15″ wingspan. There’s also a 9″ diameter, ivory resin display base supplied, embossed with the name of the monster and a map of New Jersey. It comes with its original box.
