Description

Presented is an original tenugui bandana (13×38) that was worn in the memorable movie, The Karate Kid II. It originated from the director of the film who then gave it to a friend as a gift. It was signed and inscribed in black felt tip by the two main cast members Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita with special inscriptions. Macchio wrote, Jeremy All my Best and Morita -“Stay WELL Jeremy”.

In the first movie surprisingly, the accessory was really just an afterthought as it wasn’t in the script. Morita had a lotus flower handkerchief in his pocket, and after taking it out to pat his brow he decided put it on Macchio. By the second movie, the lotus headband was a star in its own right making this one an outstanding collectible.

The consignor states:  “Our Son Jeremy Lewis had a role as an extra in the Karate Kid Movie. We were given this Screen Worn bandana by Bill Ewing the VP of Production of the movie.  He was responsible for getting Jeremy a part in the movie.  He grabbed this out of wardrobe during the shooting of the Movie and got it signed. ”

Authentication: JSA Full Letter.
