In April 2006, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill began their 73-concert 55-city Soul2Soul II Tour, again to strong commercial acceptance. The tour grossed roughly $89 million and sold approximately 1.1 million tickets, making it the top-grossing tour in the history of country music. It was also named “Major Tour of the Year” by Pollstar, beating out such heavyweights as Madonna and the Rolling Stones. In a special gesture, the couple donated all of the profits from their performance in New Orleans to Hurricane Katrina relief.
Presented is a black cowboy hat that Tim McGraw wore during his concert tour. It dates to the 2006 Soul2Soul II Tour. The branding in the interior has worn away from wear. The central portion features vent holes and the brim is curved upward in style. The interior shows a lot of wear from use as well as storage.
The hat also has a unique feature in that he always wore a hinged paper clip inside. The clip made a perfect bend that kept form and stayed in place just the way he liked. Interestingly, when he is on stage he takes the clip out. Note, the specific clip modification on McGraw’s hat comes directly from his Private Tour personnel. There are a variety of photo style matches shown of McGraw wearing the hat at different events.
