Tom Mix Signed Art Photo “The Yankee Senor” (1926)
Out of stock
Tom Mix: soldier, cowboy, minor league baseball prospect, circus rider, Texas Ranger, and… in his day… world’s biggest box office star. From the teens to the mid-’30’s, he was the real deal; a charismatic master of the silent screen and all things western, and for many fans around the globe, the face of the American West. This rare 8×10 studio-still dates to 1926, the year “The Yankee Senor” was released by Fox. Mix has inscribed the photo to a script girl working on the Fox lot. The archetypal good guy on and off screen, his salutation begins, “To my dear friend…” and finishes with a superb inking of his extravagant signature, offered in heavy black fountain pen. Mix was killed in 1940 when his trademark Cord flipped on an Arizona highway. His signature on anything related directly to his early films commands a premium from Western and Hollywood collectors alike.
