Tom Pagnazzi Game-Used Catcher’s Mitt

Catchers are some of the most under appreciated athletes. They are forced to lumber around cumbersome equipment and take foul tips off every imaginable body part. Tom Pagnazzi was a dependable backstop for the St. Louis Cardinals who used this glove between 1993-95 according to glove expert Denny Esken. Esken said Pagnazzi used this glove until he signed a contract with Rawlings to use their gloves. A Rawlings glove was built for Pagnazzi and the softer, broken in padding from this Mizzuno glove was placed in his new Rawlings glove so that he would feel more comfort. Therefore, the new Rawlings padding was placed back into this Mizzuno glove in the Rawlings factory. Although the catcher’s mitt has a tight feel to it, it does show great wear. Mizzuno logo designators adorn the wrist and near the thumb. “T. Pagnazzi” is embroidered on the back pinkie.
