Tony Gwynn Game-Used, Signed and Notated Bat
Out of stock
Description
For Tony Gwynn’s lofty standards, 1985 was a wash. All the Hall of Fame hitting machine did was hit at a .317 clip and finish fourth in the batting race. Gwynn swung this Rawlings Pro Ring Adirondack bat when he was torturing the opposition in 1985. The uncracked model 279H stick (32 1/2″ and 30 ounces) shows superb use with a number of ball transfer marks and bat rack marks. The handle bears a light layering of pine tar, and “19” is written on the barrel end in black felt tip. Gwynn topped off the bat with a “10” signature in silver paint pen, and he further inscribed “1987 N.L. Batting Champ.” A fabulous piece of lumber swung by one of history’s greatest pure hitters.
