Description
Pittsburgh’s Klinordlinger & Wallace distillery brewed some of the finest spirits in Western Pennsylvania from the 1880s through the early 1900s. Local brands of potables included Happy Moments, Monongahela Golden Rye, Toll Gate, Watch Dog and — perhaps tastiest of all to Steel City sports folks — Pittsburgh Pirate Club Sensation. Today, bottles of this whiskey are about as rare as Honus Wagner’s mustache wax cup. We not only offer a quarter-pint bottle of “Pirate Club High-Grade” but one in superb condition. The tinted burnt amber glass itself is gemstone smooth and unmarked, while the label depicting a Pirate player with his sleeves rolled up and leaning on a bat is damaged only by some mild paper loss on the lower left corner. Even a remnant of the cork still is fitted into the top of the bottle. All in all, an absolute treasure, with no aftertaste.
