Description
Presented here is a 24 x 36 UFC 3 on-sight fight poster. UFC 3: The American Dream was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on September 9, 1994, at Grady Cole Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
During this event none of the matches had time limits or rounds. You could only win the match by submission, throwing in the towel, knockout, or referee stoppage. This event marks the first time any of the referees had the authority to stop the match. And it just so happens that the referee that night was once again Big John McCarthy. This was also the first UFC tournament that was not won by Royce Gracie, he had to withdraw due to fatigue. Steve Jennum ended up defeating Harold Howard in the finals by submission “punches” 1:27 in to the match.
What makes this poster even more amazing is the fact that it comes from Big John McCarthy himself. The fact that this is a piece from his own personal collection gives the poster so much more enticement and meaning. Where else will you be able to find such a piece with the background like this one except for here in our auction?
The poster is pasted on cardboard. There is storage wear from being displayed “see photos”.
