Walter Johnson Memorial Game Program (Senators vs. Browns)
Out of stock
In December 1946, the baseball community lost the immortal Walter Johnson. As a charter member of Cooperstown’s Hall of Fame, his passing was truly a grim milestone in the annals of the game. On June 21, 1947 Griffith Stadium unveiled a granite memorial in his honor and an image of the enduring sculpture appeared on that day’s home engagement between the Senators and the St. Louis Browns. And as a fitting boodend, there appears on the reverse cover a magnificent portrait rendering of the Big Train. The memento is in reduced condition (about FR/GD) as a function of detached covers and a small puncture. The game was partially scored in pencil.
