Description

The World Football League was a brief opposition to the NFL forming in 1974 and lasting midway through their 1975 season before folding. Some of the NFL player who jumped leagues include Larry Csonka, Jim Kiick and Paul Warfield of the Miami Dolphins and the Oakland Raiders’Ken Stabler and Daryle Lamonica, who signed to play with the Southern California Sun. The Sun played their home games at Anaheim Stadium and were coached by NFL Hall of Famer Tom Fears. The team won the Western Division in 1974 and were leading again in 1975 when the league folded.

They sported flashy pink and orange uniforms and were quite the fashionistas of the WFL. Presented are three pair of game worn Sun pants. They include tagging in the waist Medalist and Sand-Knit World Football League exclusively: one has “56” written in black felt tip and is [size] 34 L , other has “73” in black felt tip and [size] 38 L, and last has “82” in black felt tip [size] 36 L.
