Wilfredo Gomez sometimes referred to as Bazooka Gómez, is a Puerto Rican former professional boxer and three-time world champion. He is frequently mentioned among the best Puerto Rican boxers of all time by sports journalists and analysts, along with Félix Trinidad, Miguel Cotto, Wilfred Benítez, Esteban De Jesús, Edwin Rosario and Carlos Ortíz. Presented is one of the highest honors a boxer can win. This one was earned by Wilfredo Gomez. It is a green leather (43″), with a massive 8″ gold-colored medal medallion centrally with text reading “World Champion / W.B.C.” . Below it are small lab created diamonds and rubies clustered on a crown and on the W.B.C.. A small blue medallion with World Boxing Counsel is on one side and the other features a boxer posing in red. It was autographed on the back by Gomez in black felt tip for added measure.
