Description
Three perfect games, a special subcategory of no-hitter, have been pitched in Yankees history. As defined by Major League Baseball, “in a perfect game, no batter reaches any base during the course of the game.” This feat was achieved by Don Larsen in 1956, David Wells in 1998, and David Cone in 1999. Wells later claimed he was a “little hung-over” while throwing his perfect game.
Presented is an OAL (Budig) baseball autographed by all three Yankees perfect game flame throwers. They signed the ball in blue ballpoint pen (“8-9”). Reserved for the sweet spot was World Series master, Don Larsen who inscribed the date of the deed, “10-8-56”, David Cone with inscription, “P.G. 7-18-99” and David Wells who also added his magical game date, “P.G. 5-17-98”. The baseball has a handwritten number code, shows some mild toning from age and is presented on a custom display.
