Description
1890s Boxing Legend – Charles Mitchell Cabinet Card [aka Charlie or Charley] (SGC Graded 50 VG/EX 4)
Charlie Mitchell was a scrappy fighter and one of the hardest hitters pound for pound as a middleweight that the boxing ring has ever seen. He fought with gloves and bare-knuckles. Mitchell fought John L. Sullivan for the Bareknuckle Heavyweight Championship – London Prize Rule in 1889. The fight was a draw.
Presented is an original cabinet card from the 1890s era of Charles Mitchell – as block printed on the bottom portion. The card was encapsulated by SGC and graded 50 VG/EX 4 on aesthetics.
