1988-89 Rick Berry Game-Worn Sacramento Kings Jersey – COA 100% Team

Rick Berry had a great rookie season in 1988-89 averaging 11.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists while shooting 40.6% from the thee-point arch. His promise was short lived as he committed suicide in the off season.

“Rick Berry’s zest for life, combined with an apparently unlimited future, seemed to make him the least likely person to end his own life as he did — with a single shot to the right temple from a 9mm semiautomatic gun he had purchased in 1988.”

Ricky had a very bright future in the NBA, Bob Zuffelato, an assistant coach with the Dallas Mavericks said.

“His shooting had to become more consistent, and he would have gotten stronger as he developed. He’d had a good first year, and he had a chance to be a good, solid player. Hey, he was 6-8, could handle the ball, pass and shoot. He had a lot of great qualities and, I guess, maybe could have become a star. I know he surprised some people in the league.” – [via L.A. Presented is a rare game used jersey from Rick Berry’s short-lived career with the Sacramento Kings (1988-89). The Kings jersey is a desirable classic red, white and blue style. Great KINGS script letters in red and blue tackle twill across the front chest and “34” (same style) on the back. The back also features a sewn on nameplate below his number with his name “BERRY” in blue placed via heat press. Overall, shows nice wear on the game used jersey with thread fraying on the identifiers.  The sides are highlighted by USA-style striping.  The front tail tagging features the proper [year] “88,” [jersey number] “34”,” Kings exclusivity, and “MacGregor/Sand Knit [size] 42”.
