Wilfredo Gomez sometimes referred to as Bazooka Gómez, is a Puerto Rican former professional boxer and three-time world champion. He is frequently mentioned among the best Puerto Rican boxers of all time by sports journalists and analysts, along with Félix Trinidad, Miguel Cotto, Wilfred Benítez, Esteban De Jesús, Edwin Rosario and Carlos Ortíz. His seventeen consecutive knockouts in championship defenses is a record for all boxing divisions. He was ranked number 13 on The Ring magazine’s list of the “100 greatest punchers of all time”.In 1995, Gómez was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
Presented is a ring Wilfredo Gomez received from the WBC. It is a World Championship ring given to him for his 17 consecutive knockouts in defense of the championship. The ring is made in 18K gold. The face has a platinum boxer figure with WBC bead set with one .005 carat single diamond. The bead set is in a platinum circle around the center features (13) round brillant cut diamonds with each measuring approx. 1.9mm with an estimated total weight of .35 carat, all with VS-2 to SI-1 clarity and G to H color. The outside of the circle features a yellow gold rope design. One flank on the left features the word “WORLD” the right has “CHAMP” and it is cut out in platinum. The total weight of the ring is 24.5 grams. The ring tapers from 20mm wide to 6.2mm wide. It is a size 10.
